Refund Policy

1. OVERVIEW

At Midsummerr, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Polar.sh is the Merchant of Record for all our transactions. This means Polar.sh handles payment processing, invoicing, and refund processing on our behalf.

2. 14-DAY COOLING-OFF PERIOD

We offer a 14-day cooling-off period on all purchases in accordance with EU consumer rights laws.

  • Unused credits are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of the purchase date
  • Used credits (credits already consumed for audiobook generation) are not refundable
  • Partial refunds available if you've only used some of your credits (see Section 5)
  • No reason required - simply request a refund and we'll process it

3. HOW TO REQUEST A REFUND

To request a refund within the 14-day window:

  1. Email: [email protected]
  2. Subject Line: "Refund Request"
  3. Include:
    • Your account email address
    • Your order ID (found in your purchase confirmation email or account dashboard)
    • Date of purchase

Processing Time:

  • We will review and process your refund request within 5-7 business days
  • Refunds typically appear in your account within 5-10 business days after processing, depending on your payment provider

4. SUBSCRIPTIONS

You may cancel your subscription at any time:

  • Through your account settings dashboard
  • By contacting Polar.sh customer support
  • By emailing [email protected]

Cancellation within 14 days: You will receive a full refund.

Cancellation after 14 days: You will retain access through the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made. No refunds are provided for the unused portion of your subscription period.

Important: To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date.

5. CREDIT PURCHASES

Full Refund (Unused Credits)

  • If you have not used any of your purchased credits, you are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase

Partial Refund (Partially Used Credits)

  • If you have used some of your credits, you are eligible for a partial refund within 14 days of purchase
  • Partial refund calculation: Credits remaining × Price per 1K words (or other applicable unit)
  • Example: If you purchased 100K words for $50 and used 30K words, your refund would be: (70K / 100K) × $50 = $35

No Refund After 14 Days

  • After the 14-day cooling-off period, credits are non-refundable
  • Unused credits remain in your account indefinitely (credits do not expire)

Credits Already Used

  • Credits that have been consumed to generate audiobooks are not refundable
  • Only unused credits are eligible for refund within the 14-day window

6. ACCOUNT DELETION

If you delete your account:

  • Any remaining credits are forfeited and cannot be refunded
  • We recommend using or requesting a refund for any unused credits (if within the 14-day window) before deleting your account
  • Payment history is retained (anonymized where possible) for tax and legal compliance purposes

7. EU CONSUMER RIGHTS

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you have statutory rights including the 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer protection laws. This policy complies with and does not limit those rights.

Nothing in this policy affects your rights as a consumer to rely on mandatory provisions of local law.

Note for EU Consumers: The 14-day cooling-off period is a legal requirement under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive). This applies to all digital purchases made by consumers in the EU.

8. EXCEPTIONS AND LIMITATIONS

Credits Cannot Be Refunded If:

  • More than 14 days have passed since purchase
  • You are requesting a refund for credits that have already been used for generation
  • Your account has been terminated for violation of our Terms of Service

Refunds Are Processed By:

  • Polar.sh (our Merchant of Record) handles all refund processing
  • Refunds are issued to your original payment method
